Passed away in Victoria, B.C. on July 27, 2015. Newt was born in Vancouver, B.C. on April 10, 1937. Predeceased by his wife Marilyn. Survived by his brother Harry Smith, his nieces and nephew Dana Kloosterman (Ken), Kim Tassone (Bruno) and Jim Smith (Chanone), also his great nieces and nephews Tyson, Corey, Kendall, Kailie, Blair, Lyle, Jordy, Logan and Wendy, along with his great great nieces and nephews Hailey, Cassidy, Carter, McKenna, Aubrey, Allie, Tanner, Lucas and Dallas.
A Celebration of Uncle Newt’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Enrico Winery 3280 Telegraph Road, Mill Bay, B.C. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Newt u will be missed for years to come,who will string the lights around the home who will feed us on those amazing gatherings we all went too,i will say when you wanted something and u got ur teeth in to that poor person there was no escaping your bite.you where and always will be spoken about with very high regards as a human on this earth,I for one will truley miss you and your bling ,till we meet again i will look to the sky at night for the star with the most shine and twinkle,rest in peace uncle newt.
