Muriel Morris

Tribute
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Muriel Morris at Cairnsmore Place on Thursday June 23, 2016.
Muriel has one surviving sister, Eleanor, residing in Winnipeg.
She is predeceased by her 4 brothers (Harvey, Roy, Reginald and Ron) and sister (Kathleen).
She was also predeceased by her husband George in 2013 and her eldest daughter Janis in 2005.
Muriel will be lovingly remembered by her family: children Penny (Douglas), Dale (Rita) and Sandy (Maureen); six grandchildren Cathy, Chris, Steven, Kelly, Christina and Nathan; four great-grandchildren Tyler, Austin, Matthew and Konner.
Muriel grew up in Winnipeg and left school after her tenth year and began work in a sewing factory where she made uniforms for our men overseas.
Muriel met her husband George in 1949 and after a courtship of six months, married and raised four children. The family moved from Pine Falls, Manitoba to BC in 1967.
Mom's many talents and skills included her amazing sewing ability, intricate knitting designs, baking and her passion for her 4 poodles, two of which rose to be champions in the dog show circuit.
During Mom and Dad's early retirement years they travelled to Swaziland to visit family, Holland for V E Day celebrations, Manitoba, and various other parts of BC and the upper States.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Cairnsmore Place for caring for our mom/grandmother over the past year.
A Memorial Service will be held at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan, BC at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 30, 2016.
A private family interment was held at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.

Our sincere condolences go out to the family on your loss of Muriel. A super kind lady who brought happiness to all. Her pies, well what can we say except lip smacking good. We hope the memories of all the times shared together over the years will comfort you in the days ahead. Muriel is now back with our favourite veteran and love of her life George. George and Muriel will now also be giving hugs to Janis. So many wonderful memories of wonderful folks.
