Muriel McNab
September 5, 1925 - October 1, 2024
Tribute
Muriel was born September 5th, 1925, in Birtle, Manitoba, and passed away peacefully in Victoria B.C. on October 1st, 2024.
Proudly served in the Navy (WRENS) as a wireless telegraphist from 1943-1946. She worked for the Department of National Defence in Prince Rupert where she met and married her husband David in 1948. They were happily married until Dave’s passing in 2014.
Dave and Muriel had a great life with no regrets. They loved to travel and went on many cruises and trips to several places in the world. Muriel loved to spend her time with her animals, knitting, gardening, swimming, being surrounded by family, shopping adventures and visits with her niece Cathy and friends from the Cove in Mill Bay, where she resided until earlier this year.
Muriel is survived by her daughter, Diane (Ken), son Barry (Penny), grandchildren, Lindsay, Erin, Allison, David (Karen), great grandchildren, Lillian, Samuel, and Isaac.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff and caregivers at the Broadmead Veterans Lodge and Dr. David Clinton-Baker and Dr. Bryan Bass who cared for her in her final years.
She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the B.C. Cancer Foundation or the Broadmead Care Society.

Relation: Informed of Muriel's passing by Cowichan Legion Br. 53.
I’m sorry for the loss of your mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. I maintain the Roll of Honour of Veterans’ Burials in the cemeteries of the Cowichan Valley that is used to guide the annual Veterans’ Remembrance Cross placements in many of them every November. We’d be honoured to include Muriel and Dave McNab in both if they’re resting in one of out local cemeteries. Please let me know.
