Tribute
Michael Ian Roberts (Mike), devoted father, treasured son, cherished brother, and loyal
friend passed unexpectedly on Nov 29, 2022 at the far-too-young- age of 35.
He is survived by his son, Logan, and daughters, Rylee, Paisley, and Henley, as well as his
beloved mother, Louise, father, Rick, brother, Alan, and sisters, Amber and Elysia.
Born Dec 25, 1986, Mike was an avid and lifelong outdoorsman. From early lessons
fishing and hunting with his dad, to fond memories of his uncle, George, and
grandfather, Harold (both deceased), to the pride of sharing his passion with his own
children, Mike was in his element in the outdoors. Whether it was on the choppiest
waters, balancing easily over acres of cut logs, or in a duck blind with a faithful bird
dog, Mike was at home.
An athlete from an early age, Mike’s other great passion was rugby, which was evident
every time he played. Fearless, tenacious, and quick on his feet, he was a true
presence on the pitch. Most recently he had been sharing his skills, coaching the
Junior Boys at the Cowichan Rugby Football Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CRFC Junior Rugby program by
e-transfer to juniortreasurer@cowichanrugby.ca, or cheque to 1860 Herd Rd, Duncan,
BC, V9L 5W4.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

We both would like to express our deepest sympathy to Louise and Rick and the whole family. We first met Mike in his early teens, and he was a fine young man, and later became a devoted father. His passing will leave a big empty space in the family. His presence will be missed by all who knew him.
