VANDERHEIDE, Maria ((Mary)
Passed away August 19, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary was born in Edmonton on March 15, 1922. Left to mourn are her daughters Anita Yarrow (Ernie) Anna Winter (Don) and her sons Andy (Elaine), Chris (Sonja), Grandchildren Cheryl, Greg, Rhondi, Brent, Jason, Brian, David, Steven & Darin & 10 Great Grandchildren.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Maynard (Van) in 2007 and her sons, Martin, Robbie, Mickey & Danny and Grandson Scott & Great Granddaughter Alliyha.
Mary and her family moved to Crofton in 1957. After raising her family Mary opened Anita”s Beauty Salon which she owned and operated for 30 years. She enjoyed the many friends she met through the Salon. After selling her home in Crofton Mom moved to Duncan Manor where she resided for 2 years. The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Manor, C.D.H. and especially the R.N.”s, L.P.N.”s & R.C.A.”s at Cairnsmore Place for the loving care they gave our Mom.
Interment will be held at Chemainus Cemetery at 12:00 Friday, August 27, 2010 followed by a service at New Life Baptist Church in Duncan,1839 Tzouhalem Road, Duncan BC at 1;00 p.m. with a tea to follow. Reverend Norm Sowden will be officiating. Online condolences may be offered at www.hwwallacecbc.com
