Tribute
Robertson, Mary (nee Bulcock) Mom passed in the early hours of July 12, 2010 at the Chemainus Care Unit. Born November 07, 1924 in Bury England and immigrated with her family to the Cowichan Valley in 1935 where Mom went to school. As a student she played grass hockey and we heard many times about games played against Queen Margaret’s. Mom met and married Danny Robertson and had one son. Mom will best be remembered for the years she worked for the school board starting in 1952 at Fairbridge then on to Alexander Quamichan and Cowichan High. Mom loved people and she was never without a smile. Predeceased by husband Danny, very special friend Herb Rosche, step daughter Pat Ahola, brothers Bill, Morby, and sisters Dorthy Lee and Betty Batty. Survived by, son Ian (Marion) grandsons Danny (Kim), Chad (Celina), and grand daughter Paula (Kevin), brothers Jack, Fred and Jeff. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of the Chemainus Care Unit for the care and compassion they provided and a very special thanks to brother Jeff for the care and support for Mom. Jeff’s presence was a joy to Mom and will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation 300-1090 West Pender Street Vancouver, BC V6E 2N7. Memorial tea to be held at the Moose Lodge on 2244 Moose Road Duncan, BC on July 21, 2010 from 2-4p.m.
