Mary Birthe Louise Nicholas

Tribute
Mary passed away on June 28, 2021 at the age of 88. Born in Duncan, BC on August 31, 1932. In her early years Mary graduated from St. Ann’s Academy in Victoria and went on to serve in the Canadian Air Force. After returning to the Cowichan Valley, Mary worked for many years at Buckerfields until her retirement in 1992. She was proud to be an active part of the Agriculture Community.
Mary was a founding and lifelong member of the Cowichan Valley Feather Fanciers and also served as president of the Cowichan Exhibition from 1994-1999.
Predeceased by her sister Birthe Quist, parents Carl Johannes Quist and Marie Cecilie Quist, brother Byrd Quist.
She is survived by her brother Norman Quist (Lois), sister in law Helen Quist, nephews, nieces and their children.

I am so sorry to learn of Mary’s death. We were friends in high school at St. Ann’s Academy in Victoria and then again when we crossed paths after I moved to Cowichan with my husband, John. She was a lovely woman.
