MOM
Mary Elizabeth Henn (nee Underwood) passed away peacefully on August 2, 2014 with her daughter, Janet, by her side. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Ernest G.W. (Chick) Henn and sons Robert and Peter. She leaves behind many, not to mourn her loss, but to celebrate her life; son, Kenneth (Diane), daughters, Dorothy (Darrell) and Janet and daughter in law Renske (Michael); grandchildren Keith, Sheila (Serge), Lindsay, Jason (Kristin) and Ashley (Dean); great grandchildren Alicia and Dylan and another great granddaughter due this month. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Mom was born May 28, 1916 in Bolton, Lancashire, England and moved to Canada in 1927. She and Dad were married in 1942 and soon moved to Vancouver Island, spending most of their years in Duncan. She worked for fifteen years at St. Joseph Hospital in Victoria, moving back to Duncan after Dad passed away. Mom, we wish you a peaceful journey. We will always remember your smile and quick humour, but mostly the love that you showed us in so many ways. We dearly love you and will always hold you close in our hearts. We will always celebrate the long time that we had with you; each new day was a blessing. We offer our gratitude to the staff at Sunridge who will also miss her smile and quick humour. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make someone smile today.

My Mother [Edna Gibson] and I were saddened to see that your Mother Mary had passed away, she always had a hello and a smile when she and my Mom talked in the lounge or hallway or when I came in to visit. We were glad to hear a family member was with her when she passed so she didn’t go alone. I’m sure you all have many great memories. Sorry for your loss, Edna & Mark Gibson
