Marie Ethel Monti

Tribute
Marie passed away on May 14, 2018 at Cerwydden Duncan . Marie was born in Duncan, she was a stay at home mom raising 3 children. Marie was predeceased by husband Henry, son Glen, parents Walter and Edith Tiesu , sister Anne Earl and sister in -law Ruth Tiesu. Survived by son Brad (Deirdre), daughter Lisa (Jarl) daughter in-law Bonnie, 8 grandchildren Jamie, Julie, Christina, Patricia, Michelle, Kimberly, Jarrod and Jinet. 14 great grandchildren, sister Louise (Phil). As a teenager Marie worked at her dad’s store in Lake Cowichan where she grew up. In the early 60’s she moved to Honeymoon Bay with her family where she resided until going into Cerwydden . Marie loved to spend time with her family , rowing, golfing, going for walks and working in her yard. Marie and Henry spent many years touring Mexico, Arizona, California and Texas in there motorhome in there retirement years. Her family would like to thank the amazing staff at Cerwydden who were her second family. Marie will be sadly missed by her family and friends . No service by request.

My thoughts are with the whole “Monti” crew. I was so very lucky to have had Marie as my Aunt, and I have so many, many wonderful memories from my childhood of staying up at Honeymoon Bay. Too many memories to recount here. I was very fortunate to have had a brief, but very happy visit with her recently. I was able to drive my Mom, Anne, up to see Marie, and we had a terrific visit. Mom knew Marie loved Pistachio nuts. So, we brought a bag of Pistachio’s and some chocolate bars. During the visit Mom commented to Marie, “Well, Marie, if you can’t eat all of this, then you can share it. To which Marie replied, with a big smile – I’m not sharing THESE with anyone!” Our visit was meant to be. I’m not able to get to the Island very often, so I feel very blessed we had a really great visit with her that afternoon. My thoughts are with you all, and I am so sorry for your loss.
