She was also a member of the OORP (Elks) in Victoria, Prince George, and Duncan, where she was the last Honoured Royal Lady in Duncan Lodge. She also looked forward to playing Shuffleboard every Thursday, where she had won six trophies. Also she was a proud member of the Eagles in Duncan BC, where she had many future plans as an active member. As a child, and young woman, Marg was a naturally gifted operatic singer, and could be heard singing like a canary. Oh I am so sad. I have been on council for 22 years, and during that time, I have attended most Legion events, as did Marguerite. She was unfailingly friendly and cheerful, even on the days you could see she was struggling a bit. It was always refreshing to see her there, proudly in her uniform. She will be missed and I thank her for her service not only to the Legion, but to our country. I will be there at her celebration of life. I will also let council know.
