Margaretha Christophersen

January 10, 1960 - April 29, 2017

Margaret was diagnosed with cancer March 2016, after battling for 10 months received a clean bill of health and was looking forward to re-joining her Island Savings family and getting back to a day to day routine, only to find out a month later the cancer had returned with a vengeance and was not curative. Even with the unfortunate news Marg battled long and hard, praying for a miracle. Marg was well known for her wonderful sense of humour and kept her friends and family laughing right up to the very end. Her unfortunate news did not keep her from worrying about the people around her, selfless and compassionate in her personal life as well as professional she touched many hearts.

Marg was not ready to leave this world, she leaves behind her two children Alexander, Danielle (Matt) parents Karl and Gay, sister Elena ( David), her best friends Tina and Jim and her dog Bentley. In her last moments she was surrounded by the unconditional love of her family and loved ones.

A celebration of life will be held at the Christophersen farm at 1220 Campbell Rd in Cobble Hill on June 10th at 4pm, limited parking is available please carpool if possible.

A special thanks to the BC cancer agency’s doctors, nurses and volunteers for their support as well as a special thanks to Marg’s GP, Dr Seymour.

Dear Karl, Gay, and Family,
Our heartfelt condolences to you and your family on the passing of your lovely daughter Margie. She was such a kind soul and I enjoyed our conversations over your fence throughout the years we were your neighbours.
The world will be a less kindly place without her.

From: Colleen Jones
Relation: Friend

From: Diana Davison
Relation: Colleague and frend

Margaret is missed everyday, her sense of humour and love of her family and friends was unconditional. She left us too early. My heart goes to Margaret’s family.

From: Carolyn Webb (Horton)
Relation: Neighbour and chidhood friend

Dear Karl, Gay and Elena – I was so very sorry to hear about Marg’s passing. She was a dear childhood friend and always had her trademark smile when I saw her in later years. So many special memories of her when we were kids. The birthday parties, sports teams, school photos, play times, etc. I was also just remembering when Marg and Tina organized the walk out at Bonner as a revolt against male teachers walking into the female bathrooms! Good job Marg. Your spirit lives on.
