Tribute
“Dell” passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, she was a strong and loving woman and will be remembered and missed by all who knew her. Dell was born in Nut Mountain Saskatchewan, but spent most of her life in Victoria. As a young woman in Victoria Dell worked in the office at the dockyard, then after marrying her loving husband of 62 years “Bob” (Robert Saunders) she dedicated her life to raising her 3 boys. Dell and Bob retired to Qualicum Beach where she enjoyed hosting family dinners and having her grandkids come to stay. Dell was predeceased by her brother Barry and is survived by her husband Robert, her three sons Steve (Lois), Roy (Dawn), Gary (Karen), her 6 grandchildren (Ben, Kate, Jamie, Brad, Devin, Brielle) her sister Adeline, her brother Gerry (Sylvia),as well as many nieces and nephews.
No service will be held. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity in Dell’s name. Thank you to the Nursing staff at Nanaimo Regional Hospital. as well as the staff at the Cowichan Lodge who showed such compassion in her final days.
