Margaret de Raadt

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Margaret de Raadt (Dobbie) on November 26, 2022. Born on February 18, 1947 in Victoria, BC. Margaret suddenly passed away peacefully at her home in Cobble Hill, BC. Margaret is survived by her daughters Teresa (Nic), Jacqueline (William), and Cynthia (Garry); grandsons Cale, Colby, Colton and Carson. She is also survived by her brothers Donny (Gaby), James, Bob, sister Patsy, niece Dawn (Blake) and nephew Ken (Carla). Margaret was predeceased by her husband Johannes (John) de Raadt, sister Susan Davies, granddaughter Cassie and her parents.
Margaret was born and raised in Victoria when she met John and they were married in 1967, moving a year later to Ontario and the following year moved back to Vancouver Island, living in Langford for 31 years and then to Cobble Hill BC for the past 11 1/2 years.
Margaret worked for the BC Government in the Ministry of Health and Finance department for close to 30 years. She was known for her dedication and exceptional typing skills!
Margaret was a very devoted, caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing her bingo and later on in life spending her Friday evenings with John at the Casino. She also loved watching Cale and Colton play soccer, going to the rink to watch Colby play hockey, taking Carson to Kumon and of course shopping with all her grandsons! And we can’t forget how much she loved her online shopping and Tim Hortons as well!
Margaret lived a full caring life and was loved by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten. This is not a good bye, this is a thank you for being such a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. May you shine above us now until we meet again.
Celebration of Life to be held at a later date in the new year.
