Lorne Eugene Dunphy

Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorne Eugene Dunphy of Cobble Hill BC.
Lorne was born and raised in Burtt’s Corner NB by James and Edna Dunphy where he was the youngest of 13 children.
In 1960 Lorne married the love of his life, Jean Dunphy. They were happily married for 57 years and had two children. In 1961 they moved from New Brunswick to Vancouver Island, first living in Victoria and later moving to Cobble Hill.
Lorne took pride in his work as a short haul truck driver and enjoyed his hobbies of camping, fishing, tinkering in his workshop, and making recordings of his friends playing music. He was known for his storytelling and sense of humour, and he had a soft spot for cats.
Lorne is predeceased by his wife Jean. He will be missed by son Donald (Catherine), daughter Kathryn, his two surviving brothers Eldon and Murray, and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday May 27, 2023 at Shawnigan Alliance Church 1603 Wilmot Avenue, Shawnigan Lake BC.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cowichan Cat Rescue.

Sending you our deepest sympathy at this time. I remember Lorne and Jean’s wedding, Uncle Lorne helping Dad pick potatoes one fall and the fishing trip he took us on when we came out to visit.
