Lena Openshaw: Passed away serenely at Sunridge, Wednesday, May 8, 2013 surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born in Vancouver BC on December 13, 1919. Predeceased by brother Eugene Heath, Sisters Verna Omdal and Vera Tomlinson, and brother Gerald Heath. Survived by daughter Elaine (Lavern) Dempster, sons Ron (Madeleine) Openshaw, Robert (predeceased by Sheila) Openshaw, grandchildren Paul and Diana Simpson, Gabriel, Pascal, Sylviane, Anatole Openshaw, Graeme (Rachelle) Dempster, Cheryl (Neil) Galloway, Shawna (Scott) Parks, great grandchildren Holden, Sarah, Carmen Tompkins, Tharyn, Russel, and Bonnie Simpson, Amelie and Zara Dempster, and Sawyer Galloway.
Lena has lived and worked in the Cowichan Valley since 1981. The exemplary care provided by the entire Sunridge staff, characterized by outstanding compassion and dedication is greatly appreciated by the family.
Visitation for family and friends will held at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan BC on Friday evening May 10, 2013 from 7:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral service on Saturday May 11, 2013 at 11:30. Online condolences may be offered at www.hwwallacecbc.com
