Tribute
Lawrence “Lawrie” Henry Jones, born June 23, 1935, in Coventry, England, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025. Son of Ena and Harold Jones, Lawrie was a devoted husband of 64 years to Margaret his wife and a loving father to his sons, Mark and Adrian. He is survived by his brothers Eddie and Phil, cherished nieces Jen, Miranda, Samantha, and granddaughter Elizabeth.
Lawrie was a lifelong lover of learning, an avid reader, and a gifted photographer who captured the beauty of the world with a unique eye.
Lawrie graduated from Lakehead University in 1971 with a BSc and went on to work in Hospital Administration and the Provincial Ministry of Health for many years, demonstrating kindness and dedication throughout his career.
In his retirement years, he found peace and great joy tending to his garden. Lawrie was a dog lover, and wonderful companion to the many dogs that lived with Margaret and Lawrie over the many years. He was also a Life member of the Canadian Kennel Club for over 50 years.
Lawrie was a quiet and thoughtful man who took pride in his work and passions. He will be fondly remembered by those closest to him.
The family wish to thank the Care staff at the Hamlets in Duncan for making Lawrie as comfortable as possible during his stay.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lawrie’s favourite Charity – The Salvation Army.
A Celebration of Life with friends and family will be held later in the summer.

I’m so saddened to hear of the passing of Lawrie. He was such a charming, kind gentleman. I always enjoyed my visits to your cosy, happy home in Shawnigan Lake and my chats with both Lawrie and Margaret and of course, the company of all the lovely dogs!
My condolences to all the family.
