HEARN, Larry Walter
September 22, 1957 – April 17, 2021
Larry was born in Duncan and grew up in Cobble Hill. Sadly, Larry passed away April 17, 2021 at Cowichan District Hospital.
Over the years Larry volunteered at Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association and enjoyed playing sports with Special Olympics, sailing and riding his motorcycle.
Larry had many health challenges for the last few years but always remained cheerful. He enjoyed playing games, listening to his vast CD collection, writing stories and going fishing.
Larry was predeceased by his dad, Walt. He is survived by his mother, Leona, and sisters LaVerne (Rand) and Rosemary (Dale), nieces and nephews.
Thank you to Michael from Inclusive Community Services for engaging Larry in activities in the community. Thank you to Dr. Glen Robinson and Dr. Roy Gilbert for your care and compassion over the years. A special thank you to all the incredible people at The Arbours – Sunridge Place where Larry resided for the past 7 years.

Relation: I played ice hockey with Larry for many years.
Mrs. Hearn, Laverne, Rosemary and families – I was very sorry to read of Larry’s passing and my condolences to all of you. I enjoyed playing Thursday night hockey at Kerry Park with Larry for several years – mostly playing defence in front of him while he was tending goal. I will never forget him yelling out “get him out of here!” whenever an opposing player would get into a potential scoring position! He was always positive and and never let any of the pucks that got by him bother him. Thanks for the great great memories Larry!
