Kim Winter

April 4, 1952 - March 11, 2011

Tribute

Winter: Kim Barry – passed away following a brief bout of cancer at 7:40 p.m. on Friday March 11, 2011 with his family by his side. Born in Calgary, Alberta on April 4, 1952. Predeceased by his parents MacDonald and Lillian and niece Michelle Winter. Lovingly remembered by his family; wife Angie; children, Lawana (Rick) Saretzky and their children Chet and Camilla; Candace, Barry and Dennis; siblings: Don (Anna), Wayne (Elaine), Rob, and Lee; all 10 nieces and nephews and 8 grandnieces and grandnephews

Raised on the family farm in Olds, AB, Kim moved to the island where he met Angie and planted his roots. He always prided himself on the quality of his family and friends that surrounded him. Everyone knew him as someone they could count on for anything. He was honest, thoughtful, generous and fair in everything he did. He enjoyed coaching his kids in hockey and camping at the lake. Working hard for many years as truck driver before buying his own trucks, Kim always worked hard to provide for his family. As hard as he worked, he always played equally as hard living life to the fullest. Anyone who knew him will tell you they are a better person for knowing him and he will be sadly missed by everyone.

A Celebration of Kim’s life will be held at the Christian Reformed Church, 930 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC on Saturday March 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Online condolences may be offered at www.hwwallacecbc.com

We were shocked and saddened to learn of Kim’s passing, we had quite a few good times thru the years going all the way back to when he still strapped the skates on. We will never forget that wiry grin. Our hearts go out to your family Angie, Kim was a good guy and a funny one as well. We will miss him. I am very sad that I won’t be able to attend the service as I’m recovering from back surgery. Betty will be there for both of us. Take care.
