Kauko Toljander

September 8, 1928 - July 23, 2023

Tribute

Kauko was born September 8th, 1928 in Vartsila, Finland and died peacefully in Duncan, BC.

Dad was a long-time employee of Bamberton Cement, he enjoyed sports, the outdoors and was a man who could fix anything.

He met our mom Aino, after emigrating to Vancouver Island.  Together, they built their family home and raised their children in Mill Bay.

Kauko was predeceased by Aino in 2021.  He is survived by his children Helen (Stan Young), Aaron and Andrew, his grandchildren Darren Young, Kyla and Ashlyn Toljander and great-grand daughter Avery Young.  Son Allan predeceased him earlier this year and grandson Ryan Young in 2017.

Dad was well cared for his final years at Cairnsmore Place and the family also thanks Dr. Thomas Young.  No service by request.

“Rakastamme Sinna Isa”                    “We love you dad””
