Tribute
Karen passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her husband Peter, daughters Heather and Stephanie. Her Mother Kay and brothers Remi Jr. (Nelita) and Tom (Rachel)
Karen was born in Montreal and spent her childhood in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, where she fell in love with alpine and water skiing. Karen was an accomplished athlete excelling in alpine skiing and travelled the world representing Canada on the National Team.
Karen met Peter on one of her trips to the west coast. Their love produced 28 years of marriage and 2 beautiful daughters. Her competitive passion showed in all aspects of her life. Her children were always the first priority for her. Karen created a welcoming loving home full of family traditions, fine cuisine, and total comfort for all.
Karen had a special place in her heart for the elderly, and spent many years caring for her seniors.
Karen Anne’s battle with Multiple System Atrophy is thankfully over and she is at peace.
Thank you to Dr. Dan Philippson, and all the staff at Cairnsmore Place for their constant exceptional care.

Peter, Heather, Stephanie, Kay, Remi, Tom and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Karen will always remain part of our day to day lives. In fact, Karen is the matchmaker who brought Peter and myself together some 35 years ago which is the best thing that ever happened to either of us. Karen added a special touch to everything and everyone in her life. May the happiest memories be forever in your hearts.

My sincere condolences Peter, Heather, Stephanie, Kay, Remi, Tom and family. Karen was a wonderful person that we will never forget. I was always in awe of her positive energy. She was like the Ever-ready bunny, always on the go, even when this horrible disease took hold of her, in the beginning. I’ll never forget when I was visiting with her in Duncan, and her mobility had already begun to deteriorate but she still wanted to take me places and we didn’t stop! My fondest memory, of Karen, was my wind surfing lessons on Lac des Sables, in Ste. Agathe. She was so patient and encouraging. I will greatly miss her.

Relation: Relationship - How did you know the deceased?
My thoughts and prayers are with you all- Karen will live on in the hearts of many. She radiated a warmth of friendship and caring for others, rarely putting her needs first. I will remember Karen’s athletic abilities and would just love to watch her fly over water or downhill…as a Mom, she glowed when talking about her girls….cherished memories will last the test of time.
