It was a sad day on January 11, 2019 when we said

good-bye to our Father.

John was born in McCreary Manitoba March 6, 1928.

Most of his Career was spend at sea Joining the Merchant

Navy in 1944 as a boy cook, followed by the Royal Navy in

1945, and finally serving the Royal Canadian Navy from 1950

until 1980. After retirement he had a very successful catering

business.

John Married Lillian in 1955 and became an instant Father to

Joan (Jimmy) and Linda, then in 1956 Lisa (Douglas) was born.

John was pre-deceased by his wife Lillian, and his mother Dora.

He was a gentle soul who loved his scotch, a good joke, and he had

A very sweet tooth.

He enjoyed spending time with each of his Grandchildren

Michael, Jeffrey, Kathryn, Mark, Kimberley, Angela,

Krystle, and Matthew his 18 Great Grandchildren and

1 Great Great Granddaughter. He also leaves behind many

Nieces, and Nephews. Johns love outside the home was

Marching with the Janazaries, and social events with his

Shrine and Masonic Friends. He will be missed by all

who knew him but never forgotten.

We Love You Dad – Joan, Linda, and Lisa.

We have happy memories of your father Lisa knowing him through our Shriner connection. He was known as “little John” and shared many good times with him on our Divan journey. He was a dedicated Aide, always willing to help and offering a smile with a drink. He will be missed.

From: Karen Oviatt(nee Brennan)
