John Edward Horgan

HORGAN: John Edward – passed away peacefully at the Cowichan District Hospital on Monday June 18, 2018.  Born in England on September 26,1946.  Lovingly remembered by his family; wife Rosemary; sons; Dominic, Jonathan and Jeremy.  Also survived by close friends; Rob Winter, Norm Jackson and David Strong; as well as numerous other friends and colleagues.

John and Rosemary met in the car business when they were in Edmonton, from 1980 till 1991. They moved to Duncan and bought Discovery Honda until John’s retirement. John was involved in the Duncan community for many years; the Duncan Daybreak Rotary, Mill Bay Rotary, Board of Governors at Queen Margaret’s School, Chairman of Cowichan Golf Course, and most recently a City of Duncan Councillor.  He was always looking out for the interests of others and putting their needs first.  He loved to travel; golf and family was also important for him.

At John’s request there will be no service.  Those so desiring may make a donation in John’s memory to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation, #101- 5822 Garden Street, Duncan BC, V9L 3V9.  Arrangements entrusted to H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre.
