Joanne Ellen Pastor (Clements)
July 22, 1947 - April 11, 2025
Tribute
July 22, 1947- April 11, 2025
With hearts full of love, we announce that Joanne Ellen Pastor has peacefully passed on and joined her sister Sandra and brother Danny and survived by her Clement’s siblings, Pat, Donna, Dianna and Betty.
Born July 22, 1947, Joanne lived a life rich with conversation, community, and coffee. She married the love of her life, George, in 1964 – and from then on, they were a dynamic duo, tackling everything from raising a family to building a life filled with love, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos.
Joanne is survived by her devoted husband George, her children Denise (Cecil) McArthur and Bryan (Carol) Pastor, and her most prized legacy: 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren – each one adored.
A champion of community, Joanne believed deeply in helping people help themselves. She was involved in everything from starting a food bank, colleges and getting Educational Assistants in schools, she even drove busses for Cowichan Tribes (being the first women to do so). She founded a Trade School to help people find their passion whether it was schooling or employment. She poured her heart into her community in Lake Cowichan and Cowichan Valley, her passion left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Joanne’s world was built on love, family, and good conversation – preferably shared around a well-worn table with something freshly baked (and ideally not made with shea butter 😊) She loved camping with her girls, trips down south, gardening, and baking treats that always had just the right amount of sass.
She will be missed deeply, remembered often, and quoted forever.
