Joan Clarke

March 20, 1925 - November 21, 2024

Tribute

Joan was born in Blackbank, on the border of Scotland and England.

She met Vic on the south coast while he was involved with the new top-secret radar during the war.

They married and eventually moved to Kenya where sons Grahame and Chris joined the family.

Due to the Mau Mau unrest they transferred to Hong Kong in the late 1950’s, where she enjoyed a wonderful life raising her two boys and working as an “In Flight Supervisor” for Cathay Pacific Airways.  Vic retired from the civil aviation department, and they came to live in Maple Bay.

She had a green thumb and was very active in the Rhododendron Society and the Garden Club.

She passed away peacefully and will be fondly remembered by all her family and friends.

A special thank you, to all the staff on 3 East at Cowichan District Hospital.

No service by request.
