Tribute
With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of Jerry Mosley on December 26th, 2017 at the age of 81 years. Jerry was predeceased by his first wife Patricia Ann Barnes and leaves behind his current wife Virginia of Chemainus, son Scott and his wife Jill, grandchildren Michael and Allison of Marlton, New Jersey.
Jerry was born in Delaware and his family later moved to New Jersey. He served in the U.S. Army for a period of time after the Korean War seeing peacetime duty in Germany before returning home.
He met his first wife Pat at what is now Washington Adventist University in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. where his only child, Scott, was born. From there, his love of aviation saw him move his family to Daytona Beach, Florida to enroll in the prestigious Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and start a career in aviation which began as a crop duster and ended up as a corporate pilot and certified flight instructor. Jerry eventually returned to New Jersey to help his mother run the Garden State Rest Home for the elderly while also remaining a pilot and settling with his family in Cherry Hill, NJ.
He was an active member of the S.D.A. church there as well as in Cape May Courthouse, NJ where he enjoyed spending countless summer weekends camping with family and friends.
After his first wife passed, he found his current wife Virginia who shared his strong Adventist faith and eventually moved with her back to her native Canada to live out his remaining years in beautiful Chemainus, B.C.
A memorial service to be held at 1 PM on Sunday, January 7th at the Duncan SDA Church, 3441 Gibbins Rd, Duncan B.C. V9L 6E6
