Jerry Thomas Blackwood passed away suddenly from a heart attack on April 1st at the age of 65.
Jerry was truly one of the good ones — kind, positive, and always thinking of others. He had a gentle, thoughtful way about him and a genuine care for the people in his life. Whether it was checking in, lending a hand, or simply showing up, Jerry was always there.
Jerry also had a wonderfully quirky, teasing sense of humour and a playful, expressive side. Whether it was a perfectly timed reference, a bit of performance, or a classic “live long and prosper” 🖖 moment, he had a way of bringing a smile to those around him.
Jerry was deeply devoted to his family. He never missed his Sunday evening visits with his mother, always bringing a movie to share — a simple, loving ritual that meant so much.
He shared a special bond with his dad. Some of Jerry’s most cherished memories were the times they spent woodworking. He carried that passion forward throughout his life.
He was a loyal and caring friend as well, often riding his bike to visit his dear friend Susan in Glenora, where he would help care for her and her home without hesitation.
He leaves behind a family & group of friends who loved him deeply and will miss him more than words can express.
