Tribute
After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Jennifer Simonson (nee van Buiten) on October 30 2020. She is survived by her husband Todd, two daughters Emma and Madelyn, parents Peter and Pearl, and three siblings, Kathleen, Jeff, and Eric. Jennifer was born in Victoria but spent most of her teenage years in Mill Bay before moving to Duncan, where she started her family. Jennifer will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her love of music, her astounding strength, and her love for animals. Jennifer touched so many hearts and will be missed by all. There will be no service as per Jennifer’s request. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation online at cdhfoundation.ca

Dear family, I am so sorry to hear of Jennifer’s passing. We have known your family since we met in Honeymoon Bay in the early 80’s. We were neighbours for a while and also friends with her Mom and Dad. She fought a good battle, unfortunately the disease won. She will be missed by many. Love and sympathy to all.
