Williams: Jean Elizabeth – Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday February 27, 2010. Born in Athabasca on January 4, 1928. Predeceased by her husband David (1986) ;brothers, Charles and Jack; sisters, Betty, Lil, Mary and her very good friend Mary Newington. Lovingly remembered by her son Robert his wife Mary and their children Christine (Trevor) and Jennifer as well as great grandchildren neices and nephews.
Jean worked for the CNIB in Edmonton and came to Duncan in the early 1950’s where she worked for the power commission, then met and married her husband David in 1953. Jean also worked for a number of years for various accounting firms. She was a Life member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star with 62 ½ years service, over 50 years as a member of St. John’s Anglican Church in Duncan.
A Celebration of Jean’s life will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, 486 Jubilee St., Duncan BC on March 9 , 2010 at 1pm. A thankyou from her family to the doctors and nurses at Cowichan Hospital for their thoughtful gentle care. Flowers gratefully declined, if so desired memorial donations may be made to the St. John’s Anglican Church or the Memorial Society of BC, 205-640 West Broadway, Vancouver BC V5Z 1G4. My deepest condolences on the passing of your mother.
I remember clearly her walking toward me.She was sunshine, happiness and joy.
I ran to meet her,took her hand and danced all the way home.
I was four years old and I had the best Aunt in the whole world. I adored her.
I am the richer for having walked the path with this rare and special woman.
