Jaswant K. Bunty Parmar (Johal)
September 7, 1929 - April 13, 2026
Tribute
Bunty passed away peacefully at 7:45 am on April 13th, 2026 at the Cowichan District Hospital.
She was raised in Victoria later moving to Lake Cowichan, then to Paldi and finally settled in Duncan.
One of her goals in life was to become a Registered Practical Nurse. Despite having a Grade 5/6 education, through hard work and perseverance she accomplished this task.
She worked at the Mary Moore Care Home in Cobble Hill, and while working she studied her Practical Nurse courses. Once she received her Certificate she moved on to work at the Kings Daughters Hospital in the Maternity Ward.
After retirement she worked part-time at Ven Tec Fireplace and Ventilation Service.
She also volunteered many hours at the Paldi Temple, cooking, cleaning and ordering supplies for all Temple Services.
She was an avid gardener, sewer, knitter, baker and cook.
Bunty was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Daljit Parmar, her sisters Dillget (Jeto), Sina, Tudmie and brothers Genty and Buncy.
Survived by Nirmal Parmar, her sister Pudgy, sister-in-law Gurbax, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral will be held Saturday April 18th, 2026 at H. W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, 2853 Roberts Rd., Duncan, BC.
Doors open at 10:30 am. Service at 11:00 am.
Private Family Cremation at Paldi Crematorium.
All others can proceed to Paldi Sikh Temple for lunch.
Final Prayers at 1:30 pm.
