James (Cliff) Clifford Blake
August 27, 1939 - October 28, 2020
Tribute
Cliff passed after a short but courageous fight due to complications after surgery. He was a loving husband, father, grandad and father–in–law. Loved by all friends in Canada and family and friends in England.
Cliff was a great guy, a real gentleman with a super sense of humour. He will be greatly missed by all.

Cliff, your helping, caring, humorous, strong, independent, generous spirit will stay forever. You will be missed by so many people. How can I fix anything? My heart goes out to family and friends who have suffered with Jackie during these last weeks. Jackie has been our rock and our information sharer. Jackie, each day know that your compassion, strength, energy, and love is being magnified and sent back to you. Condolences, Peace and Love.

Cliff was a father figure to me, a wonderful and caring friend to our family, and a man with a great sense of humour and kindness. I reminder when he taught me, with great patience, to drive a standard transmission car in hilly Victoria! I will miss his gentle and humble spirit. We have known Cliff as our neighbour while living opposite in Roachburn Road Newcastle upon
Tyne since 1967. We attended Jackie and Cliff’s wedding and saw them frequently after Paul was
born. He was the same age as our own son Simon. They moved later and now when we walk by
the River Tyne at Newburn we remember their first home together. It was a sad day for us when
they moved to a new life in British Colombia.
Cliff was a kind thoughtful man, very good at home improvements and glad to help us with his
advice.
Since the move to Canada we have kept in touch through Christmas cards, Jackie’s long letters and
latterly emails. It was good to see them both again on their return to the UK, we shall always
remember them happy together and in good health. His personality shone through and he will
always be in our thoughts and prayers.

We are so sorry to hear of Cliffs passing. Jackie and Cliff were great neighbors for a few years before they moved on. Cliff and jackie were always ready to help if in need.
