Irene Myrtle Forsyth (Willmott)

Irene Myrtle Willmott, was born on January 11th, 1925 on James Island, BC and passed away peacefully in Duncan, BC on January 9th, just shy of her 101st birthday.
She was predeceased by her beloved older sister, Betty, and her husband, John W. Forsyth, whom she met at a dance and married before settling in Victoria. John passed away in 2009.
Irene built a career in banking, where she enjoyed connecting with her customers and forming lasting relationships. Together, Irene and John raised one son and two daughters, all of whom went on to marry and have children, expanding the family she cherished deeply.
The couple lived in several communities across Canada, including Calgary, Toronto, and North Delta in Vancouver, BC, before moving to Vancouver Island. There, they made homes in Cobble Hill and Maple Bay. Following John’s passing, Irene continued to reside in Cobble Hill and later in Duncan, BC.
Known for her sociable nature and quick wit, Irene was loved by many. She delighted in sharing her ‘words of wisdom’ and stories, and took great joy in attending church, spending time with family and close friends, and walking her dogs over the years.
Irene’s warmth and spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
