To Jeannie and family
I am very sorry for your loss.
I know we haven’t been in contact for a lot of years but Muriel and I have talked often of enjoyable times we had with you, at your places and the 4×4 club.
We will continue to enjoy those thoughts.

From: Jeff and Kathy Peace
Relation: We went to school together

Jeannie, Jeff and I were saddened to read of Ian’s passing. What a shock. We have such great memories of our school years. We always called him “ Chicken “. We are thinking of you during this difficult time.

Jeannie, Briana, Geordie and Kieran,
Our deepest condolences to you for a man that we remember was a man of integrity, a strong mind, very helpful and honorable – a farmer – “the chicken farmer”.
From the 4×4 rallies, barn dances and the Halloween bonfires I will always remember and hear Ian’s laugh. I will never forget how over the years, Ian was always there to help. When i was young Ian taught me how to drive a tractor. He showed me how the eggs are collected in the chicken barn. Ian was also instrumental in getting me my first ‘real’ paying job for Roy at Island Eggs. As i have grown older Ian was still there pulling me out of the snow or giving me a ride home giving me crap the whole way because i should have bought a truck, as my car was stuck in the snow.
I can say for myself and family, we’re sad that Ian is no longer here but we are thankful to have the memories and are greatful that he has passed on his values to his children so they can continue his legacy.

Sorry to hear about Ian. He was a good hard working old school guy.

From: Aman Grewal
Relation: Family Friend

Jeannie, Geordie, Briana and Kieran our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Ian. Words cannot express the sadness we feel upon hearing the news of Ian passing. Such a kind, caring generous man. Take comfort in knowing that he and dad (Dasondha) are now together again farming in heaven. Dad passed away September 3rd. Sending love to the family.

From: Ian Boon
Relation: Friend from the good old days.

Jeanie, although its been many many years since we shared great times together, please accept my condolences on Ian’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and family. I still often recall the great times we had in the old Victoria Four Wheelers and life on the Saanich Peninsula. Hopefully I may be able to get back to the Island for a visit to renew old friendships before my turn comes. Very best regards.
