Henry died peacefully at Cowichan Valley Hospice on July 10, 2021.
Predeceased by his son Bill, Henry is survived by his wife Penny Kellett-Landry, mother Helen Landry, daughter Theresa Sharrett, son Paul Landry and their
families.
No memorial planned at this time.
At Lorne’s request there will be no service.

Relation: I was part of the sangha ( community), Henry was the leader.
Henry dedicated decades to learning and liturgy. Being a teacher/messenger of the Buddha way. He was a published author and involved in many causes ,such as taking a stand against violence against women, being involved with the fund raising for rebuilding the Kinsol Trestle, trying to get the railway running again on the island, and he counseled people in prison who needed a fresh start. Henry touched the lives of countless people. I chant NMRK because of him. Ambitious and yet humble. Stubborn yet compassionate. Social yet appreciated solitude. I wish my friend well on his journey.

Relation: We attended Henry's Buddhist services.
My mother (Lilian Drewcock and I (Russ Browne) wish to offer our condolences to Henry’s family. We had met Henry at his Buddhist centre and my mother had Henry and his practitioners come to her house as an alternate place for the service and Lilian gave Henry a large vessel for holding rainwater at the centre. Henry had a great spirit and we were saddened to learn of his passing. Here’s to a great journey in your next existence Henry!

Relation: I attended Buddhist Chanting in the Nichiren Style at the Peace Garden.
Accidently, by coincidence, I attended a free weeknight introduction to chanting in the Nichiren Style at the Cowichan Campus of VIU. I discovered over the next weeks a painless method of reducing my experience of stress-related headaches. Now nearly every day I chant Namu Myoho Renge Kyo and I know what eternal gratitude feels like. Thank you, my Teacher Henry Landry. NMRK
