The Fallen Limb
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me.”
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Harold (Harry) Champoux passed from this life on Friday June 30th. In his final days his family gathered around him and celebrated his life well lived. Tears and laugher combined as we all said goodbye to our loving husband, dad, poppa, uncle, and brother.
Harry was born in Wells BC March 12, 1942. He was raised in Terrace, BC where Harold met the love of his life Evie. They were high school sweethearts, and “joined at the hip” life partners. They were married for 55 years, raising three sons Colin, Bret and Cory and helping to raise a few nieces and nephews along the way.
Harry throughout his life had many passions, including horses, trucks, music, (who can forget his Elvis impersonations) and sports. He was for many years the coach and foundation of the family softball team in the Cowichan Valley. The Cowichan Cablevision Wanderers played with joy and passion under Harry’s leadership.
Harry’s biggest passion and priority was always his family. Besides his sons, Harold’s clan extended to his daughters-in-law, Joann, Evelyn, Annette, and Ailsa, and his beloved grandkids, Dustin, Jared, and Kaitlyn and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his close friend and sister-in law Fay, and his beloved dog Muffy.
Harold was pre-deceased by his parents Irene and Almer, his son Cory, and his siblings. We expect there was a joyous family reunion in heaven.
You are loved Harry and you will be missed. Until we all meet again.

You were always a smiling face that I could count on for a good story and a laugh. I enjoyed growing up with you in my life from the leader of the baseball team to a most memorable Elvis impersonation in Hawaii to everything in between. I am comfortable knowing you have moved to a better place to continue your fun-loving ways. Lots of of love, Andy
