Tribute
Jardine: Gwendolyn – passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Born in Edmonton, Alberta on April 2, 1930. Predeceased by her husband Jim Jardine (1975) and Archie Owen (January 2010)her companion for 30 years as well as her parents.
Lovingly remembered by her family; children; Lori (David) MacKenzie; Brad and Pat; grandchildren; Nichole, James, Kristopher, Matthew and Michael; sisters, Sophie and Mary, Brother John and their families.
Gwen was born and raised in Alberta. She met and married Jim Jardine while working for the Hudson Bay Company. Gwen and Jim relocated to Duncan in 1963 and took over Hudson’s Hardware which Gwen continued to operate until 1983. Gwen in her retirement years, loved to garden, travel cooking and canning.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Dhaliwal, and theDoctors and Nurses at Cowichan District Hospital 3rd floor for all their compassion and professional care. Special thanks to Gwen’s neighbours Wendy, Shirley and Kim and particularly Jill who without her help Mom would not have been able to stay at home as long as she did. Also thank you to the home care nurses for all of their help during Mom’s illness.
At Gwen’s request there will be no service. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorial remembrances may be made in the form of a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, 100-394 Duncan St., Duncan BC V9L 3W4. Online condolences may be offered at www.hwwallacecbc.com
