Tribute

Greg had a zest for life. His passions included friends, family, pets, travel, food, music ,golf, farming, carpentry, new people, and anything that sparked his interest. He left us on a sunny day at home, while holding the hand of his longtime loving companion, Bev. He’s off to new adventures, and free of pain. He leaves behind many friends and loved ones, as well as an extended family; brothers Danny and Terry, sister Kathy ; nephews  Liam and Sebastian; Brendan, Christopher and Sean; as well as Brandi and Lisa, their husbands Bruce and Steve, and Brandi’s children, Brendan, Brooklyn and Brodin. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy, and sister Marylou.

Bev would like to thank the staff at We Care (especially Jen and Sandy), as well as the staff at Cowichan Hospital, and especially Dr. Paul Terlien, whose caring professionalism was a great support.

A Celebration of Greg’s Life will be held at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan BC on Sunday June 28, 2015 at 12:00 p.m.  A reception will be held at the Craig Street Brew Pub commencing at 2:00 p.m.

I I’m very saddened to hear about Gregs passing. He definitely had a zest for life. Haven’t seen Greg in many years but hearing the news haven’t stopped thinking about him.
We shared many good times at their farm in Cloverdale and later in Duncan. He told some great and funny stories where all would aren’t in uncontrollable laughter. Sharing a glass of wine with his tastey cooking. My heart goes out to Bev Brandi and Lisa along with all his other close family and friends Greg was also a very skilled carpenter who taught me a few tricks of the trade. He will be missed but I’m sure he would want his closest to remember his funny stories and remember how he could make you laugh.

Bev and Family,
I was so sorry to read of Greg’s passing. I had only seen him at Power Lunch not too long before that, and I will miss his sporadic visits in for breakfast and a latte. We always had a good chat, about where you were Bev, or where you were going or coming from, and the next trip that was being planned. The renovations that seemed to take forever, and so many other things. The quick market visits were always finished off with laughter. That’s the way I will remember Greg. Laughter.
My thoughts are with you. Robin xx

Our deepest sympathy to Bev and all of Greg’s family. We have such great memories of skiing, golfing, camping and just hanging around with Greg. His enthusiasm for life was infectious, as was his laughter when he’d tell about his wild dreams. He had a gift for seeing the humour in a situation. Even though we hadn’t seen him for several years, we always liked knowing he was in the world and we might get together again someday. We miss him. We wish all of you peace and joy in Greg’s memory.

Bev I just got your message two days ago, and have not stopped thinking about you since. Although we haven’t seen each other for quite some time, your news has brought back wonderful memories of time spent with you and Greg at Cloverdale and Duncan – New Year’s Eves, birthday celebrations and just getting together. I can’t believe I will never hear Greg’s Harvey Schwarz story again. Love to you and all of Greg’s family.
