1948 – 2026
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Glenn Wiese announces his sudden passing on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the age of 78 years. Glenn was born in Leader Saskatchewan to Henry and Emily Wiese.
Glenn was predeceased by his father, Henry Wiese in 2006; his mother, Emily Wiese in 2008; and his niece Stacy Wiese in 1984. He is survived by his sister, Brenda (Ron) Beatty; his brothers, Terry Wiese and James (Donna) Wiese. Glenn is also survived by his niece and nephews, Michael Beatty (Cherie Grunert) and his children, Raechel, Natalie, and Camryn; Amber (Bobby) Rowein and their children Emily and Bentley; Clayton (Candace) Wiese and their children, Georgia, Conner and Rayna; and nephew Cody Wiese.
Glenn was a private person who was quite content to stay in the background. He did, however, have many interests and hobbies. One of the things he loved the most was being in his boat in BC catching salmon and halibut. His family were the lucky recipient of many packages of halibut and salmon that he would send by air freight. These were greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all.
Glenn was a very talented wood worker. He built a large and beautiful grandfather clock for his mom and dad. This clock still sits in his brother Terry’s house today. He also built a child’s highchair for Jim and Donna’s children. This highchair was used by each of their children and, most recently, by their grandchildren. It was used by Brenda and Ron’s grandchildren as well. These are just a few of the things that he built over the years.
Glenn made many friends in the Cowichan Bay, BC area, where he lived. Glenn was known in this community to be thoughtful and always ready to help his friends and neighbors when needed. He treasured his visits back to Saskatchewan to see family. Sometimes his visits would be timed to take place in the Fall so that he could hunt geese and upland game birds with his brothers.
He will be missed by his family and many friends. Rest In Peace Glenn!
A Gathering of Remembrance will take place at the Leader community hall (402 1 st Ave West, Leader, Saskatchewan) on Saturday, September 12th – from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Leader Cemetery, email townoffice@leader.ca
