Gail Linda Gunnarson (nee Woods) March 22, 1948 – July 31, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful and loving sister.
Born at Kings Daughters Hospital here in Duncan and spent her entire life in the Cowichan Valley. Gail loved the simple things in life and stayed pretty close to home. She always looked forward to her daily visits to the Doghouse Restaurant for her tea one egg and toast. She absolutely loved the staff and they thought the world of her. She often referred to them as her girls. Gail led a very structured lifestyle and when the COVID shutdown happened it became difficult for her. She then lost her daughter after a courageous battle with cancer. This was a toxic combination that she could not overcome. Anyone who knew her loved her and she was a friend for life. She will be missed.
Pre deceased by our parents Dave and Marjorie Woods, our little brother Kevin and her daughter Sharon. Survived by her husband John.
Brothers Glen, Wayne (Dora), Dean (Therese) and sister Holly. Stepdaughter Carmen (Dennis) Grandchildren Tynan, Quentin, Joshua, Ethan and Aiden.
Gail was always loved animals so we request a small donation to the SPCA in lieu of flowers. Due to the restrictions regarding the size of gatherings the service will be reduced to family and invited guests only.

My dearest deepest sympathies to you Holly and brothers. And my heart is heavy with sadness and I can only imagine how you all feel. I served Gail at the Doghouse For 17 years. We all knew when she was there for she had an infectious laugh, she was lovely and she will be missed dearly. Please know I’m thinking of you all at this terrible time of sorrow.
