In Loving Memory of Franco Augusto Peruzzo
It is with heavy hearts that we said goodbye to Franco “Frank” Augusto Peruzzo. He passed away peacefully on September 20, 2022, in his home in Duncan, British Columbia with his wife Priscilla and three children by his side, Marisa, Julie and Dan.
Frank was born to his parents, the late Bruno and Maria Peruzzo, on October 7, 1942 at Tribano de Buie, Italy and in 1959, immigrated to Chatham, Ontario with his family. He is survived by his sisters, Mirella and Josie and has joined his brothers Mario and Tulio.
In Chatham, he met the love of his life, Priscilla, married on November 6, 1965, started their family and raised their three children. Frank was born near the ocean and yearned to, once again, live his life near the ocean so in October, 1978, he moved his family to the west coast of Canada, settling on Vancouver Island, in Duncan, BC. He had a great passion for fishing and spent many, many hours out on the boat, trying to catch the “big one”. It didn’t matter if he didn’t catch a fish, it was about being out on the water, doing something he loved.
Through his life, Frank was a father, grandfather, great grandfather, bother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will always be remembered for his warmth, kindness, honesty and sense of humor. It didn’t matter who it was, he welcomed everyone into his life. No doubt, he touched everyone he met in some special way and for that, he’ll always be remembered.
We’d like to express special thanks to the entire team of healthcare providers who cared for him at Victoria General Hospital, Royal Jubilee Hospital, Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Cowichan District Hospital and especially, the home care/support teams. Despite his states of illness, he maintained a sense of humor with everyone who cared for him.
At Frank’s request, we will not be holding a funeral service but rather, having a celebration of his life on October 8, 2022 at the Peruzzo house, 6495 Wicks Road, Duncan, BC. It will take place from 1-6 pm. Anyone wishing to share a memory of his life can do so from 3-4 pm.
