Frances Dukeshire

Tribute
Born 1925 in Rossway, Digby, Nova Scotia, Frances passed away peacefully January 14th at the Cowichan District Hospital following long-term illness. One of three children of Guy and Winnifred Haight, she was pre-deceased by husband Ron, sister Luana and leaves behind sister Lorna, daughter June (Roger) Painter, and grand-daughters Laura (Manj), Tonia (Wade), sisters-in-law Marion and Marjorie and families, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Frances was a quiet but strong presence in our lives, a caring and amazing lady who loved handicrafts, reading, learning, discovering, armchair travelling, and all books, with a passion. She and Ron were married in 1949, living first on an old farmstead in Waldeck, N.S., and later in Deep Brook/Clementsport, before moving west to B.C. in 1982, settling in Cobble Hill on Vancouver Island. They enjoyed traveling and camping in Canada and the U.S. and spending many happy times with family and friends in the lovely Cowichan Valley. We will so miss you Frances, Mom, Gram; you will forever be in our hearts. God Bless.
