Tribute
Our precious mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully and with dignity, at home, on the morning of November 24th, 2014. With her loving husband at her side, she took her last breath as she passed on to be with her Lord and Saviour.
Survived by her husband Joe Fraser of 45 years, children: Susan (Daryle) Sorenson, Paul (Hieu) Fraser, grandchildren: Cole, Owen & Ethan, siblings: Mary-Clare (Phil) Jennings, John Guay Junior and Ed (Sonia) Guay, as well as numerous other loving family members and friends.
Fran was born in 1946, to John and Doris Guay, in Thunder Bay, ON (formerly Fort William). The Guay family moved to Duncan, B.C. in 1959. Shortly thereafter, in 1962 in high school, she met the young man that would become her life long partner. The high school sweethearts wed in 1969 and lived a full life for 45 years.
With great sorrow, we will miss Fran. However, we shall find joy in the lasting memories of such a special person. With a kind heart like her mother (Doris Guay) and a sharp wit like her father (John Baptiste Guay) she at once made you feel at home and gave all those around her something to laugh about.
Mother’s greatest joys were her grandsons. She had numerous health issues; but if her grandsons needed anything, she always rose to the occasion. The sacrifices she made for her family was amazing, we can all aspire to share the same dedication and love as she did.
We would like to thank Dr. Watson, Catholic Womens League, Home Care Support staff, and the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society for taking special care of our mother. We would also like to thank our family, neighbours and friends for their support of meals, cards, flowers and gifts throughout the 18 months that Fran battled with lung cancer. Your care means more than words can express.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward’s Roman Catholic Church, 2085 Maple Bay Rd., Duncan BC on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society, 3122 Gibbins Rd, Duncan, BC.

Frances, I have such rich memories of our first meeting back in 1955, the beginning of our teen years and at long last meeting a “girl cousin”. This was so very special to me.
I have always admired your love of family and your deep connection with Joe. The two of you were always so perfect together and such an example to us all. You have left a legacy of humor and love for family and friends.
We have all gained our own very special angel to watch over us. We celebrate your life.
