Forin (Kim) Campbell

March 22, 1940 - November 11, 2017

Tribute

Kim Campbell passed away quickly and peacefully on the morning of Nov.11th. This was very fitting as he loved reading about military history and always enjoyed Remembrance Day.

Kim was born in Port Alberni, BC and lived his whole life on Vancouver Island. He graduated from Victoria High School in 1958. It was there that he met the love of his life, Faith (deceased 2011).  They married in 1962 and spent 49 wonderful years together. Kim and Faith lived in Saanichton for almost 40 years. They raised three children, Louise, Deborah and Bruce, built three houses and were involved in many community activities. Kim worked at Allied Glass in Victoria for 35 years. He found his work to be very rewarding and made many wonderful friends during that time. Upon retirement in 2000, he moved to Parksville, BC where he and Faith built their retirement home. They enjoyed golfing, travelling, gardening and activities with the PGOSA club. As well as three children, Kim leaves behind a legacy of seven beautiful grandchildren with whom he made many wonderful memories and a dear sister, Erin. Special thanks to Judy who came along at a very difficult time, her support and companionship were important and meant a lot. Kim was a kind, fun loving gentleman who was well loved and will be greatly missed.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Yates Memorial Service, 1000 Allsbrook Road Parksville, BC on Sunday, November 26 at 1:00 PM

From: Torrey D. Gillott
Relation: I worked with Kim,,, and was a part of his extended family...

The news of Kim’s passing hit me with a sadness and stillness all at once tbis morning,,, I worked with Kim, for thirteen years in Victoria, at Allied,,1969-1982,, he was a devoted husband and parent,,, he was a true friend and fair foreman at Allied Glass,,, during those years at Allied,, all of us felt a kinship with each other,, and a feeling of belonging to an extended family,,, all of which Kim and Faith contributed to,,, I am sure he will be sitting in a coffee room in heaven with the others from Allied that have departed, , playing kings and little ones, three card draw, for dime and nickels, , cranking on each other just as we did every lunch hour. A truely good man and group of friends,, I missed them all for years after I left…and as each one passes it truly rips a piece of my heart,, love to you all…

Relation: Friend

My father, Henry Borge, started Allied Glass & Aluminum Products when I was a child so I grew up knowing Kim and Faith. It’s true that Kim was a fair foreman for many years at Allied and someone my father could always depend on. I too felt sad and surprised to see his obituary in the paper this morning…another one of the extended “Allied Glass” family gone. And I too can see them in the lunch room enjoying some laughs while playing cards.

To Kim’s family

I was saddened to hear of Kim’s passing. I think I’ve known Kim most of my life as he and my brother Glen were grade school friends. He liked to tease and I was a very gullible kid. He often used to tell me he “was going to see a man about a dog” and I thought boy he sure knew an awful lot of men with dogs. It was a some years later when I heard that expression and realized the meaning that my “leg had most firmly been pulled”. Kim was so easy to like. He and Faith were such a great couple and I was very fortunate to know them both.

With sincere sympathy
Donna (Stephens) Blyth
