Fay Norie
January 10, 1929 - May 30, 2022
Tribute
Fay passed away peacefully after spending the previous afternoon with her four children. Fay was born in Viking Alberta, grew up in Camp 6 (Caycuse) and in Mill Bay. She married the love of her life, Frank in 1950 and raised her 4 children in their family home at Cobble Hill where she lived until 2021. Fay loved to travel and one of her favourite places was Maui, where she and Frank had many good times swimming in the ocean and having happy hours with friends. She loved to entertain and was an avid gardener. Summers at the Norie residence were full of friends and family around the swimming pool. Fay was always happy to see children learning to swim and she welcomed friends and neighbours. Fay was predeceased by Frank in 2008 and is survived by her four children, Peggy (Chris) Whittaker, Ken (Lori) Norie, Sherry Norie and Peter (Tina) Norie, her six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A private family gathering will be held in her honour.
In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations to one of her favourite charities, the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.

What a woman Fay was! From her stories of her family, their accomplishments and her travels. Loved just sitting listening and talking. I will always have a smile on my face when remembering fondly! God speed Fay and safe travels to the west! 🏝

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Fay. She was a brilliant sister-in-law who was truly the “hostess with the mostess”. I was very fortunate to have been so warmly welcomed into the Norie family when I married Fay’s brother-in-law, Henry. She was hugely supportive to me for all her remaining years and I too treasure many memories from the day she and Dub stood up for us at our wedding to just a few days before she passed. I loved our holidays together including cruises, family thanksgiving camp-outs, Nimmo Bay, and gatherings around the pool. Later I was taught card games around the kitchen table with Anya and still later shared Blizzards with her. I loved her home and beautiful gardens but most of all, I loved her. She was kind and generous with an effervescent smile and a captivating laugh. I will always miss her.
