In loving memory
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Evelyn Dey on March 27, 2025.
Evelyn passed away peacefully after her long courageous fight with cancer.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband George in 1989, her loving grandson Chad in 2020, her mom Edna, sister Ruby, brothers Bob, Bud and Cliff.
Survived by her loving sons, Rob and Rick, her daughter Lorraine (Doug), granddaughter Amie (Mark) great granddaughter Aurora and brother Bill (Irene).
Evelyn was born in Waskda, Manitoba. Her family moved to Duncan shortly after. She spent her working career at the Letter Box Stationary, than later went onto the Card & Party Shop in the Duncan Mall from where she retired. Evelyn loved to travel the world and be in her beautiful garden. She loved going to Las Vegas and teaching the dealers how to play blackjack.
Special thanks to all the doctors and staff at the cancer clinic, the incredible nurses and home support workers, who made it possible for our mom to live at home up to a few days of her passing.
Respecting our Mom’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
