Elvin Garnett Olmstead
August 4, 1938 - July 25, 2025
Tribute
Elvin passed away peacefully at his home at Sunridge Place in Duncan, BC with family at his side.
Elvin was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan to Garnett and Irene Olmstead. He grew up on the family farm, the eldest sibling and moved to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in his 30’s, working at the Kin Workshop and attending their Sage Program in his later years. He loved his work, and the different activities and travel that were available to him including a trip to Disneyland, all the Special Olympics he attended, Thunderbird Camp, Telemiracle and especially his Saturday bowling at Minto Bowl! His bowling scorecard was cherished and shown to everyone.
In 2023 Elvin moved to Duncan, BC to be nearer his family. His home at Sunridge Place brought him many new friends and activities to enjoy. He was happy, quick to smile and sing along with anyone. He loved his music.
Elvin was predeceased by his parents, Garnett and Irene, his niece Angela Hudak, and her husband Jason Wilson. He is survived by his only sibling Linda Olmstead and her husband, David Lehr, as well as Angela and Jason’s children, Leah Guy, Alexandra Guy, Mike Wilson and Jessica Wilson and many cousins.
Graveside service will take place at Peesane Cemetery on September 26,2025 at 1pm
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Kin Enterprises in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Heaven has gained a special Angel.
