Dorothy Barber

Tribute

Midge passed peacefully at Cowichan District Hospital with family at her side.

Midge leaves behind her husband of 60 years Patrick T. Barber, daughter Kim Ann (Glenn), sons Patrick T. (Laureen) and Stewart A..

Grandchildren: Melissa RN BSN (Reuben), Adam, Colton and Kelsey. Sisters: Carol McCoy, Lynda Bradley (Ken), Maggie Reimer (Don).  Predeceased by sisters Barbara Newel, Beverly Pimlott and Arlene Jaskow.

Midge had a long history with The Canadian Scottish Regiment since meeting and marrying her husband who was a cadet in the Regimental Cadet Corps at the time. Midge served in the Regimental Women's Auxiliary and was the only female to serve as a member on the committee for the Regimental Museum. Midge had many talents; her true passion was for Counted Cross Stitch, as well as ceramics, knitting/crochet and sewing. Cherishing many hours spent with family, travelling, fishing, camping and enjoying nature.

The family wishes to thank the Cowichan District Hospital, Doctors, Nurses and the staff for all the excellent care given.

We miss you more than words can say.

The immediate family will be holding a private graveside service. They would like to invite all family and friends to a Celebration of Life which will be held at

The Royal Canadian Legion, Trafalgar/Pro Patria Branch No. 292, 411 Gorge Road East, Victoria BC, V8T 2W1 Saturday April 5th, 2014 at 1pm-4pm

To Pat and Family,
Please accept my most sincere condolences on Midge’s passing. I consider myself to have been extremely fortunate to have met and known Midge for some 50 years as she was always so very cheerful and thoughtful whenever we met. I also recall with great fondness Midge’s many, many activities in support of The Canadian Scottish and for this we can all be very thankful. I know I am failed by words to provide comfort at this time but please be assured you are in my thoughts and I wish you all the comfort you derive from knowing Midge was extremely well thought of.
