Tribute
THOMPSON: Dola Miriam – passed away peacefully at Cairnsmore Lodge on Wednesday June 9, 2010. Born in Kamloops BC On November 20, 1931. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd (1990), daughter Lynn (1966). Lovingly remembered by her family; sons Russell (Correna) and Randy (Jacqui); grandchildren, Courteney, Cheyenne and Samone; and great grandchild Ashton.
Mom spent many years in Port Renfrew where she and dad raised their family. Mom worked for B.C.F.P. as a watchman. Eventually they moved to Ladysmith and worked for Carter’s Music Store a job she loved as she loved to talk to people. She lived a full life, doing a variety of things such as; traveling with friends as well as by herself, and played many games of all kinds. She always looked forward to house-sitting for friends and looking after their pets and farm animals. As it was her wish, Mom will go back to Port Renfrew to be with Dad
To Mom
God looked around His Garden
And found an empty space;
He then looked down upon this earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest;
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew that you were in pain
He knew you might never
Get well upon this earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, “Peace be thine.”
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you never went alone,
For part of me went with you
The day God called you home.
Love Russ

Relation: I met Dola last year through my job
I was saddened to hear of Dola’s passing. I didn’t know her well, but only met her briefly last year while working at a pharmacy. She left a lasting impression on me. She was a strong, but kind woman and had I known her history in Port Renfrew, we would have had even more to talk about. Next time I am in Renfrew I will take a moment to remember Dola. Rest Well…

Dear Russell and family, I was so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing, and I am so glad I had a chance to have a little chat with her the other day. I enjoyed it so much when she would come into the bank and we could have little visits.
She was a delightful lady, with a wonderful sense of humour, and I know she will be missed.
