Dianne McConnell
Tribute
Dianne Margaret McConnell (1944 to 2025)
Dianne McConnell, 81, of Crofton, BC, died in Duncan, BC, on May 24, 2025.
Dianne was born in Haliburton, Ontario in 1944 to Hilda and Walter Kellett – the youngest of 6 siblings.
Dianne was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Wilson. Dianne is survived by her second husband, Dale McConnell, her children Ngaire Lord, Peter Wilson, Susanne Theckston and Melissa Elliott; and her grandchildren, Mark McLachlan and Myanna and Torah Theckston.
Dianne grew up in Haliburton, eventually moving to Toronto as a young woman, then to London, England where she met and married Michael Wilson. Dianne travelled the world extensively – living in New Zealand and Australia – before finally settling in Crofton on Vancouver Island.
Dianne loved to cook, entertain and was passionate about her beautiful garden – but she was most proud of being a mom of 4 children.
Dianne and Dale were married in 1995 and in their retirement years they enjoyed RV camping at their lot at Spider Lake Springs and were snowbirds for 25 years in Arizona, Texas and Mexico. Dianne and Dale loved cruising in their collector cars with the Cowichan Valley Car Club. Dianne was a great friend and will be missed by her “girls”. Dianne was an active member of the Crofton Seniors Centre and volunteered at the Crofton Community Centre.
Dianne will always be remembered for her love of life, her glitz and her great “photos”!
We miss you mom – you are in our hearts always.
