Tribute
In loving memory of David K Nelson
It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our dear son, brother, uncle, and great uncle, David Kirk Nelson, who left us on October 18, 2023, in Victoria, BC. Born on February 6, 1964, David’s sudden passing leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives.
David is survived by his mother, Darlene Williamson, and her friend Ron Peck, his brother Mark Nelson, sisters Myrna Miller (Jerry Carter) and Trena Huson, (Chris Bertram). He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. David is also fondly remembered and missed so much by his best friend of many years, Colleen.
A lifelong resident of Victoria BC, David discovered his passion for building houses at a young age. Guided by a family friend, his career in construction began, spanning over four decades during which he crafted numerous top-end and million-dollar homes throughout Victoria. David opened his company, David Nelson Home Builders and taught several people the construction trade paying forward the knowledge he learned in the early years.
An avid pet lover, David shared his home with his beloved cats. His deck and yard were a haven for the local neighbourhood peacock. Animals seemed drawn to his gentle spirit, reflecting the compassion that extended beyond humans to all living creatures.
In accordance with David’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. The family plans to organize a memorial in his honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we kindly request donations to be made to a pet organization of your choice, a fitting tribute to David’s love for animals.
As we mourn the loss of David, we hold onto the cherished memories and the enduring impact he had on our lives and the community he so deeply cared for. Always loved, loved always, may he rest in eternal peace.

Dave, thank you for all of the in depth jobsite chats over the years! I supplied a lot of doors, moulding, lumber and concrete to your projects over the years. You were a very deep thinker, and you will be missed.

Dave, This comes as a huge shock and I wish I got to know you more. You were so much fun to be around and never stressed on the job. I was looking forward to working with you more and I am so sad to hear your gone. Love you Uncle Dave
