David Jackson Clark

May 5, 1945 - January 22, 2026

Tribute

David Jackson Clark, May 5, 1945 to January 22, 2026 of Duncan, BC, passed peacefully into his next life, embraced by the love of his devoted wife and best friend of more than 45 years, Anna.  He was deeply loved by his family and leaves behind his four children, Beth, Bob, Karen (Kevin) and Kathryne, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Geoffrey and Jeanne, and his brother John.

Born in Perivale, Great Britain, David spent his early years in London, Middlesex, England. In March of 1950, he immigrated to Canada with his family, beginning a life defined by curiosity, hard work, and steadiness. Between 1950 and 1966, the family moved between Canada’s east and west coasts before settling permanently on Vancouver Island in late 1966—a place David would proudly call home.

David enjoyed a distinguished professional career as an Accredited Appraiser with the Canadian Institute (AACI, P. App) and was honoured as a Fellow of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Over more than 40 years, he built a respected practice specializing in commercial real estate appraisal.  His integrity, insight, and perfectionism earned him the trust of colleagues and clients alike.

David was a proud and active member of Kiwanis, generously volunteering countless hours from 1990 through 2025. For over 25 years he was Santa Claus to many Cowichan Valley children, even convincing his own grandchildren of the magic of Christmas.  Service to others was not just something he did; it was who he was.

When not volunteering, David cherished time spent with his wife—travelling, visiting his children, and enjoying the company of his close friends. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: playing cards, tending his garden, and camping. Friends and family will also fondly remember David for his unmistakable personal style—an avid suspender-wearing gentleman who was not often spotted without them. Often adorned with playful cartoon designs, his collection of more than 30+ pairs reflected his quiet humour, individuality, and joy for life.

David will be remembered for his generosity of spirit, quiet wisdom, warm sense of humour, and his unmatched ability to procrastinate when the moment truly called for it. No matter the situation he faced, he always made the best of it, meeting life with a light heart, kindness, and a positive attitude.  He was deeply dedicated to his community and, above all, unwavering in his love for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the values he modelled so faithfully.

From: Hugh Dye and Carol Allen
Relation: Our best friend

We are heartbroken to say goodbye to our dear friend David. The memories we shared camping, playing cards, lingering over dinners, and laughing until our sides hurt will stay with us always. His sense of humour was truly one of a kin quirky, generous, and able to light up any room. It’s impossible to think of those moments without smiling through tears. Above all, he adored his wife Anna, and the love they shared was something everyone around them could fee. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and will always be part of our stories.

From: Carol-Ann Rolls
Relation: Connected in Community

My sincere condolences to Anna and Dave’s large community circle. Dave was a key figure associated with the Duncan Dabber Bingo Society (DDBS) in Duncan, British Columbia. He served as the vice-president of the society, which played a significant role in bringing bingo and gaming opportunities to the Cowichan Valley, including the development of the Chances Cowichan facility. He reached out to many not for profit organizations during that tenure and ensured we knew and benefitted from funding opportunities. In 2010 when a fire broke out at Kiwanis Village, Dave ran from home to check on all the residents and assisted them post fire until they could move back in. Dave always had a smile on his face (especially when posing for cheque donations) and was always quick to thank the fellow Kiwanis members or Dabber volunteers on helping to make those presentations possible.
